2018 FIFA World Cup – Group B: Iran need own goal to beat Morocco!

The 2018 FIFA World Cup continued on Friday, June 15 afternoon with the first Group B match between Morocco and Iran, which Team Melli won through a late own goal at the Saint Petersburg Stadium.

Morocco were the better of the two sides, but their finishing let them down despite Ziyech, Belhanda and Benatia having good chances to score.

Towards the end of the first session, Iran finally got hold of the game and their striker Azmoun had their best chance of the half. The game went into the break goalless.

After the break, Morocco again were the better side but in the fifth minutes of added time their substitute striker Aziz Bouhaddouz headed in a free-kick into his own goal to gift Iran a memorable win and all the three points.
