The 2018 FIFA World Cup continued on Thursday, June 21 with former champions France beating South Americans Peru thanks a Kylian Mbappe goal at the Ekaterinburg Arena.
Peru once again started off with an attacking intent but the longer the first half lasted the more France got into the match. In a phase were both teams had their chances, France went ahead in the 34th minute when a deflected ball was put into the net by Kylian Mbappe and the took that 1-0 lead into the break.
Peru risked again more in the second session but except a crossbar attempt by Aquino and a ball wide by Farfan, they didn’t really bother the goal of keeper Hugo Lloris. In the end France won 1-0, qualified for the knockout stages while Peru are eliminated.
