2018 FIFA World Cup – Group E: Brazil held surprisingly by Switzerland!

The 2018 FIFA World Cup continued on Sunday, June 17 evening with record champions and title contenders Brazil were held to a 1-1 draw by a strong Switzerland at the Rostov Arena.

Brazil were the better side in the first half and deservingly went ahead in the 20th minute through a beautiful long-ranger from midfielder Philippe Coutinho. But thereafter the Selecao pulled back to give space to Switzerland, who were not able to capitalise on it. At the break Brazil were 1-0 ahead.

But things changed in the 50th minute when Steven Zuber headed in a corner for the equaliser. Thereafter Brazil pushed for a second goal but to no avail and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
