Sometimes this kind of philosophy to call all players just to take a close look at them , does more harm than good to the player.
Manvir Singh has some serious technical deficiencies which can be resolved over competitive matches. Manvir Singh was all set to play in the CFL for Mohammedan Sporting and now he has been taken away for the camp. If in the ISL Manvir Singh does n´t get enough of game time that would be do no good for Manvir Singh .

Likewise , irrespective of all the nice words that many say about Nikhil Pujari , the true fact is that Nikhil Pujari is yet to win the confidence and trust of the fans of East Bengal. After nicely dribbling past 3-4 opponents Nikhil looses balance of body and mind. This CFL would have given the opportunity to Nikhil to stabilize his position in the East Bengal squad. Now Stephen Constantine has taken away Nikhil Pujari so that he , along with Manvir Singh and other juniors can be used to form 2 squads for practice matches.

If Stephen needed to call these young players just to ensure that he has enough heads to arrange practice matches , he should have set up the camp in Kolkata. That would have given him the opportunity to play practice matches against the teams of Kolkata who are now all ready to start the CFL.
