adidas hosts Energy Mode X18 to celebrate Soccer in New York!

To celebrate the first weekend of FIFA World Cup and the legendary culture of the beautiful game, adidas Soccer hosted a second Energy Mode X18 event and celebration of their X18 footwear, the fastest and lightless cleat in the market. Located under the Brooklyn Bridge in Brooklyn Bridge Park, the event brought together the community, athletes and artists of all kinds for an evening of impressive sport and culture.

Staying true to adidas Soccer’s stadium to street mantra, guests were treated to appearances from U.S. Men’s National Team player DeAndre Yedlin, NYCFC players Jonathan Lewis and Sebastien Ibeagha, as well as a live performance from American rapper Action Bronson.

As part of the event, Queens native Alexis Santa was crowned Tango MVP of New York City and will soon be sent off to Moscow, Russia to partake in the Global Tango League Final that will take place during the last week of the tournament. Santa will compete against other Tango MVPs from all around the world to earn a spot in the Tango Squad F.C. managed by World Cup champion Xabi Alonso.
