The AFC president thanks Praful Patel for donation to AFC Dream Asia Foundation!

The Asian Football Confederations (AFC) expressed gratitude to All India Football Federation (AIFF) President Praful Patel for donating 100,000 US Dollars for the AFC Dream Asia Foundation, which was launched in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In an official letter to AIFF, the President of the Asian Football Confederations Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa stated: “I am writing to place on record my profound thanks and sincere appreciation on behalf of the whole Asian football family, for your generous donation to the ‘AFC Dream Asia Foundation’.”

“Your contribution is deeply valued and will assist the Foundation in realising its objective of using football as a catalyst for social development and change, and will positively impact the lives of so many around our vast continent,” the letter mentioned.

“Dear President, thank you for your wholehearted support and I am confident that it will inspire others to lend their support to this worthy cause,” the official letter from the AFC President stated.

The Foundation outlined that the new and transparent organisation will provide funds and work with major NGOs in the areas of Children and Young People, Health, Education and Integrity, Social Inclusion and Diversity and Humanitarian Aid.

The AFC is already working on social responsibility projects in various part of Asia, including typhoon-hit Tacloban in the Philippines, in the earthquake-hit mountains of Nepal and also the Southern prefecture of Japan which has suffered from floods. This work, along with new partnerships with UN and other agencies will be included under the umbrella of the new AFC Dream Asia Foundation.
