The AIFF Appeals Committee after considering various circumstances and conducting hearings attended by FC Goa were of the considered opinion that there were mitigating circumstances to reduce the penalty imposed of Rs. 50 lakhs by the AIFF Disciplinary Committee to an amount of Rs. 5 lakhs which should be paid by FC Goa to AIFF within 10 days of receipt of the order.
The appeal of FC Goa was directed against order dated March 4, 2016 passed by the Disciplinary Committee of the All India Football Federation which had imposed disciplinary sanctions by imposing a fine of Rs. 50 lakhs for not being present for the ISL Prize distribution ceremony on December 20, 2015 after the Final match of the second edition of the Indian Super League.
