AIFF president Praful Patel on July 3 to meet I-League clubs!

After much delay the All India Football Federation president Praful Patel is set to meet the owners and management of I-League clubs on Wednesday, July 3.

The AIFF Executive Committee was supposed to meet on July 3, but this ExCo meeting was postponed and this has given the AIFF president the chance to finally meet the I-League clubs, whom he was first supposed to meet months back ahead of the Super Cup to talk about the future of Indian club football.

AIFF general secretary, Kushal Das’ letter to the club owners on Saturday afternoon said, “This is to inform you that a meeting with representatives of I-League clubs with the President of All India Football Federation has been fixed on 3rd July 2019 at 3 pm at Le Meridien, New Delhi.”

The AIFF at the next ExCo is supposed to discuss and decide the future top tier of the Indian club football structure with the Indian Super League supposed to replace the I-League as the top tier and in that case then the I-League would be pushed to be the second tier of Indian football.
