Antonio Conte no longer head coach of Chelsea FC!

English Premier League giants Chelsea FC of London have announced that they have fired their Italian manager Antonio Conte ahead of the 2018/19 season.

The 48 year old Italian, who had joined Chelsea in the summer of 2016 after managing Italy at the 2016 UEFA European Championships, had returned to pre-season training this week but it clear from the start that he would not go into the season as the teams manager with only the modalities of the seperation being discussed by both sides.

Chelsea FC in a club state announced, “Chelsea Football Club and Antonio Conte have parted company.

During Antonio’s time at the club, we won our sixth league title and eighth FA Cup. In the title winning season, the club set a then-record 30 wins in a 38-game Premier League season, as well as a club-record 13 consecutive league victories.”

Conte had a very successful first season in which the Blues lifted the 2016/17 Premier League trophy, but things somehow didn’t work out in the second season as they finished outside of the lucrative UEFA Champions League but won the 2017/18 FA Cup.

Now that Conte is history, his compatriot Maurizio Sarri is set to become new Chelsea FC manager.
