Bangladesh FF aims to strengthen grassroots pool!

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), under the AFC President’s Initiative, launched a mini artificial turf at the Nilphamari District Stadium on Sunday, January 7.

The mini pitch was inaugurated by Asaduzzaman Noor, Minister for Cultural Affairs of Bangladesh together with Kazi Salahuddin, President of BFF and SAFF.

Also present at the ceremony were BFF Vice President Abdus Salam Murshedy, FIFA and BFF Council Member Mahfuza Akhter Kiron, BFF General Secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag, Nilphamari DFA President Arif Hossain Moon, BFF Vice Presidents Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi, Tabith Awal and BFF Exco Member Amirul Islam Babu.

Launched in 2014, The Mini Pitch Scheme is part of the AFC President’s Initiatives for Asian Football and is aimed at increasing the number of facilities available for grassroots and community football throughout Asia and its Member Associations.

BFF underlined that the turf will be used to identify promising grassroots players in the country and that two similar turfs are awaiting inauguration in Feni and Madaripur in January.

The BFF will also apply to the AFC for the establishment of three more turfs in 2018 to strengthen the pipeline of footballers in the country.
