Bartholomew Ogbeche leaves NorthEast United FC for Kerala Blasters!

Indian Super League franchise Kerala Blasters FC have signed Nigerian striker Bartholomew Ogbeche from rivals NorthEast United FC.

34 year old Ogoja-born Bartholomew Owogbalor Ogbeche started playing football locally and then for Lobi Stars before being scouted as a teenager by French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

It was at PSG that he made his professional debut in the 2001/02 season. He spend four years at the club with loan spells at SC Bastia and FC Metz.

Ogbeche left in 2005 to sign for UAE Pro League side Al-Jazira. He returned the season after to join Spanish second tier side Deportivo Alaves in 2006. A year later after Alaves’ promotion, he decided to stay in the Segunda Division to join Real Valladolid. The years later he moved on to Cadiz CF.

Ogbeche left Spanish shores in 2010 to join Kavala FC in Greece, then a season later he moved to England to join then Championship side Middlesbrough FC. Only a season on, he moved back to Spain to join Xerez CD.

In 2014, Ogbeche moved to the Netherlands to join SC Cambuur, the most successful spell in his career as a striker. After two season in the summer of 2016, Ogbeche moved to Eredivisie rivals Willem II Tilburg from where he moved to India in 2018 to join NorthEast United FC. And after 12 goals for the Highlanders, he moves south to join his coach Eelco Schattorie at the Kerala Blasters.
