Bengaluru FC Colts down ADE 1-0 in Bangalore Super Division!

Aditya Patra saved a first-half penalty and Biswa Darjee turned up with a winner (27′) as Bengaluru FC Colts beat Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) 1-0 to leave the Blue Colts on the cusp of a second successive BDFA Super Division title, at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Monday. The result – Bengaluru’s tenth win of the campaign – took Naushad Moosa’s boys to 31 points after twelve rounds, and they now need a win in their final-round clash against Ozone FC to seal back-to-back triumphs.

Going into the crucial game, the Blue Colts began offensively and created back-to-back close chances in the opening quarter, with Edmund being denied on multiple occasions. While the Bengaluru FC Colts pressed high up, it was ADE who got the golden chance to take the lead at the other end after defender Muhammed Rafi was adjudged to have brought down K Prashanth in the box in the 18th minute. ADE skipper Stephen Rajkiran stepped up to take the spot-kick but was denied by custodian Aditya Patra who guessed correctly and saved with a dive to his right.

The following five minutes saw a double set-back for Bengaluru FC Colts as both Leon Augustine and Rafi had to be taken out after suffering injuries.

Despite circumstances going against them, the Colts maintained composure and finally took the lead in the 27th minute when a breakaway move saw playmaker Amay Morajkar send Biswa clear on the left with an aerial pass. The defender controlled the ball well and lobbed it over the rival keeper who had advanced to intercept.

Moosa’s boys kept the pressure on and had more chances through Advait Shinde and Biswa. While the former was denied by the keeper in a one-on-one situation, the latter’s attempt came off the crossbar in the final minute of the half.

The second half was a similar story with Bengaluru FC Colts creating chances throughout the forty-five minutes only to be denied by some impressive goalkeeping from ADE custodian Farsin PP who pulled of multiple saves.

The Bengaluru FC Colts take on Ozone FC on January 4, in their final game of the campaign.
