Bengaluru FC Reserves rally to defeat Income Tax 3-1!

Bengaluru FC Reserves side rallied hard to claim a 3-1 win over Income Tax in a Round Nine game of the BDFA Super Division League at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Tuesday. Lalthangliana (8′) scored the opener for the Blue Colts, only for Shiva (10′) to equalize moments later. After an hour of football split by the break, Bengaluru FC Reserves scored twice in quick succession through Advait Shinde (69′) and Edmund Lalrindika (70′) to climb back to the top of the BDFA Super Division League standings.

The game began with Bengaluru FC Reserves on the offensive and it didn’t take long for the opener as Lalthangliana struck. Advait’s shot from the edge of the area had come back int play off the woodwork and Amay’s effort from the follow up was saved by the Income Tax keeper. The ball then fell kindly for Lalthangliana, who scored from close range to make it 1-0.

Moments later, Bengaluru FC Reserves gifted Income Tax an equalizer when, after hesitating with his clearance deep inside his own half, Sairuat Kima’s weak punt forward fell for Shiva. The striker’s shot from distance was deflected past a hapless Aditya Patra, who watched the ball creep in at the near post.

Earlier, Bengaluru FC Reserves rolled out a heavily changed starting eleven as Jagdeep Singh, Lalthangliana and Edmund Lalrindika replaced Emanuel Lalchhanchuaha, Leon Augustine and Naorem Roshan Singh. Into the second period, the Blue Colts made two changes as Emanuel and Roshan came on to replace Lalthangliana and Jagdeep.

Bengaluru FC Reserves took a grip of things in the second period and scored twice in quick succession. Edmund’s pass to Advait was slotted home by the striker to give the Blue Colts the lead, following which the striker was brought down in the box allowing Edmund to score from the spot and make it 3-1 on the evening.

The Blue Colts next face ADE on Friday, December 20.
