Bengaluru Youth Football Cup: U16 Boys & U16 Girls finals played!

bengaluru-youth-football-cup-u16-boysThe inaugural Bengaluru Youth Football Cup, an inter-school Under-16 football tournament for boys and girls, finished off with the finals yesterday at the Bangalore Football Stadium in which a total of 61 school teams (52 boys, 9 girls) took part.

The Bangalore District Football Association (BDFA) had partnered Footieculture India to organise and run the tournament which according to the organisers was designed to provide an unforgettable experience of football and fun both on and off the field for the kids.

The Under-16 boys section was won by RICE School, Mathakondapalli 1-0 against Green Hood International School, Sarjapura with Sanatomaa scoring the winner in the 48th minute.

In the Under-16 Girls section, the same two schools played the final but here Green Hood International School defeated RICE School, Mathakondapalli on penalties.

Individual Awards – Girls
– Best Goalkeeper: Sanjana (Deens’ Academy)
– Best Defender: Nandita (Headstart Academy)
– Best Midfielder: Navina (Greenwood International School, Sarjapur)
– Best Forward: Amrita Vanshmi M G (RICE School)

Individual Awards – Boys
– Best Goalkeeper: A.K.S. Narula (Greenwood School)
– Best Defender: Karthick (St. Aloysius School)
– Best Midfielder: Manav Kapoor (DPS North School)
– Best Forward: Addision (RICE School, Mathakondapalli)
