Calcutta Football League – Premier Division ‘B’: Sibra Narzary brace hands United SC 2-0 opener win over SAI!

Former I-League side United Sports Club started their journey in the Calcutta Football League – Premier Division ‘B’ with a 2-0 win over SAI at the Gayeshpur Stadium on Monday afternoon.

The United SC management mainly made their team of their own youth products along with some experienced players.

This year for the Calcutta Football League – Premier Division ‘B’, United SC have signed 21 of their youth players from the United SC U-16 and U-18 teams.

Assam striker Sibra Narzary from Kokrajhar made all the difference, as the new signing scored both goals, the first in the 22nd minute and then the second with only a minute to play in the second session.

United SC coach Partha Sen said, “I am really happy with the performance of our team, specially the youth players. They performed far better than I expected. Nevertheless the league is quite long and we need to be consistent to achieve our desirable position.”

With this win United SC start off the league with three points from their first match in the Calcutta Football League – Premier Division ‘B’ 2017/18.

The Purple Brigade will play their second match in the Calcutta Football League – Premier Division ‘B’ on August 17 against FCI at the Kalyani Stadium.
