Calcutta Football League: United SC beat Aryan Club 2-0!

Former I-League side United Sports Club scored a 2-0 victory over Aryan Club in the Calcutta Football League – Premier Division ‘B’ due to second half strikes from Supratip Barui.

United SC assistant coach Debraj Chatterjee in the absence of the teams chief coach Partha Sen made three changes from their last match which had brought one point against Police AC with Shiba Chowdhury, Amarendu Chakraborty and U-18 player Ruhul Kuddes Purkaite starting the match.

The Purple Brigade looked more composed in the second half and peppered the opposition with more crosses from both the wings. Finally in the 53rd minute, United SC striker Supratik Barui made no mistake to score his first goal of the season, when the Ayran Club keeper could not grip Sibra’s shot and Supratip placed the rebound very calmly in the net.

Thereafter United SC capitalized a Shiba low drive which Supratip put in the 80th minute into the net. Aryan Club made a few good moves in the second half as well but the Purple Brigade defence was comfortable to deal with those.

After taking full point from their fourth match the Purple Brigade stay in second position in of the CFL Premier Division League ‘B’ table.

United Sports Club will take on George Telegraph SC in their next match on August 31 at Kankinara Narayanpur at 2.45pm.
