Chennai City FC sign Dharmaraj Ravanan ahead of their I-League debut!

I-League corporate entry Chennai City FC have signed seasoned defender Dharmaraj Ravanan on loan from FC Pune City for the 2016/17 campaign as their club captain.

The 29 year old Thiruchy-born Ravanan will play for the first time professional football in his home state of Tamil Nadu after having played for Indian Bank in the local Chennai Super Division as a teenager.

Thereafter he joined Dempo SC and Mohun Bagan, where he only spend a season before moving to Mahindra United in 2007 and having his breakthrough under Derrick Pereira. He spend three years in Mumbai before moving to Goa to join Churchill Brothers SC, where he went on to captain the Red Machines to I-League and Federation Cup triumphs.

Since the launch of the Indian Super League he has been with FC Pune City and other the last couple of seasons has had loan spells with Kalyani Bharat FC and Sporting Clube de Goa.

Ravanan is looking forward in playing for Chennai City FC and lead the team in their debut season in the top tier I-League.
