I-League new entrants Chennai City FC have continued with their signing spree by now bringing in former India junior striker Malswamfela from Mizoram Premier League champions Chanmari FC on loan.
23 year old Aizawl born Malswamfela a few years ago was regarded as one of India’s brightest prospects after having been part of the AIFF and India junior set up for a number of years playing for the India Under-16, U-19 and U-23 teams while also playing for the Pailan (Indian) Arrows in the I-League.
But thereafter Malswamfela could not keep up with the promise and returned to his home state of Mizoram to play first for Aizawl FC and then Chanmari FC. Especially in the current season, he has been a key player for Chanmari FC in their attack to lift the Mizoram Premier League – Season 5 title.
Now Malswamfela as a Chennai City FC player will be back in the national spotlight, maybe he can fulfil the promise and hope he has shown in the past, which surely would be to the liking of his new club.
