DFB German Cup: Amateur clubs look forward to welcome Bundesliga sides in Round 1!

The draw for the first round of the DFB German Cup (DFB Pokal) 2019/20 was held tonight with the draw carried out by former Germany Women’s international Nia Künzer at the Deutsche Fußballmuseum in Dortmund.

Defending champions Bayern Munich travel to Regionalliga (fourth division) side FC Energie Cottbus, while Bundesliga runners-up Borussia Dortmund face 3.Liga side KFC Uerdingen in a west derby, especially for 2014 FIFA World Cup winner and Dortmund boy Kevin Großkreutz it will be a special match.

The matches would be played from Friday to Monday, August 9 to 12 across the country with the amateur clubs looking to welcome their more established opponents.
