The first-round German DFB Cup tie between fourth-tier (Regionalliga) side 1.FC Schweinfurt and FC Schalke 04 has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 3 (16:30 CET) at the VELTINS-Arena in Gelsenkirchen.
The BFV (Bavarian Football Association) confirmed Schweinfurt’s participation after a Court of Arbitration’s decision on Tuesday, October 27.
The arbitration was needed after promoted 3.Liga side Türkgücü München had gone to court to fight for the German Cup first round slot, but the BFV stuck to their guns and a Court of Arbitration decided in their favour with 1.FC Schweinfurt set to face the royal blues.
