After the departure of Alejandro Menendez Garcia, East Bengal Club have announced that Mario Rivera will coach the red and gold until the end of the 2019/20 season.
42 year old Spaniard Mario Rivera, who last season was the assistant cf Alejandro Menendez Garcia, had left the club last summer and now the UEFA Pro License holder returns to the club until May 31.
Alejandro Menendez Garcia had resigned on Tuesday following Sunday’s Kolkata derby defeat and the club had been looking for a suitable replacement to salvage their I-League campaign.
East Bengal in a statement said, “Mario is familiar with the team and coaching staff and this surely will be an advantage for the remainder of this season.”
Mario Rovera is to apply tomorrow for his Indian visa, but it is not known how quickly he would be able to come to India. in the interim the assistant coaches of the club would manage the team in the I-League.
