East Bengal defender Anwar Ali suffers myocardial ischemic attack!

The bad news don’t seem to stop for Kolkata giants East Bengal Club.

Former India international and East Bengal centre-back Anwar Ali suffered an myocardial ischemic attack on Tuesday, April 25 after the red and gold morning training session, was driven by team mate Gurwinder Singh directly to a nursing home in Kolkata and he is now in a stable condition.

After complaining of problems during and after training, Anwar Ali was taken to the MEDICA Super Speciality Hospital in Mukundapur off E.M. Bypass.

After admission and several medical tests, renowned cardiologist Dr. Sunip Banerjee confirmed that Anwar did not suffer a heart attack, but an myocardial ischemic attack which could have led to a heart attack. He will be kept under observation for at least a day to confirm that no operation or any other procedure was needed.

As per medical definition, A sudden, severe blockage of a coronary artery can lead to a heart attack. Myocardial ischemia might also cause serious abnormal heart rhythms. Treatment for myocardial ischemia involves improving blood flow to the heart muscle. Treatment may include medications, a procedure to open blocked arteries or bypass surgery.
