Kolkata giants East Bengal Club have announced that they have extended the contracts of their three Academy products Prakash Sarkar, Manoj Mohammed and P.C. Rohlupuia until 2023.
22 year old Prakash Sarkar has been with the senior team for a couple of season with him mainly getting playing time in the Calcutta Football League with Prakash being often a substitute during the I-League.
20 year old North Bengal-born Manoj Mohammed started his football locally in the north of the state before joing the North Bengal academy of East Bengal at Rajganj in Jalpaiguri. Then Ranjan Chowdhury, head of the East Bengal Academy, brought Manoj to Kolkata to join the East Bengal Academy.
Manoj captained the East Bengal U-18 team and played for the team as a centre-back. Manoj was part of the 2018/19 I-League squad but head coach Alejandro Menendez Garcia made him a left-back, a position in which he regularly played for the first team.
Mizoram-born teenager P.C. Rohlupuia is one of the boys who will make the step from the East Bengal under-18 side to the senior team.
