East Bengal: Khalid Jamil to stay coach for Super Cup, Subhas Bhowmick appointed TD!

The board of the East Bengal Club met on Monday evening to take stock of the situation at the red-and-gold after finishing only fourth in the I-League and ahead of the upcoming Super Cup.

It is one more season that the Kolkata giants will have wait for the I-League, which they have never won with the last title being the National Football League in the 2003/04 season.

First it was decided to keep head coach Khalid Jamil in-charge of the first team for the Super Cup, but as Manoranjan Bhattacharya as technical advisor, the club decided to call on former player and head coach Subhas Bhowmick as the Technical Director until the end of the 2017/18 season.

How Khalid Jamil and Subhas Bhowmick would work together has not been defined by the board, but it is something that the two will have to work out in the interest of the club and its success at the Super Cup.
