The Football Association of Odisha (FAO) with profound grief and shock, the Office Bearers and its Members in deep sorrow and condolence on the sad and untimely demise of former India junior international Sheikh Yunus who breathed his last today morning at around 5am after a brief illness. He was a resident of Shaikh Bazar in Cuttack. He was 65 years old.
Sheikh Yunus had the honour of representing Junior India Team (1977), many famous clubs in Odisha state and he had also represented the state in many National Football Championships for the Santosh Trophy.
He was a retired employee of East Coast Railway. He is survived by a son, a daughter and his wife Naimatun Nisa Begam.
