FIFA Women’s World Rankings: India finish 2016 as 54th, USA remain top!

Earlier in the day, the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking were released by the world football governing body and in the final rankings of 2016, India gained three spots to be in 54th position behind Croatia and ahead of Israel.

India have 1412 points, the same as last month and they also stay in 12th position in the Asian (AFC) Women’s rankings.

At the moment the India Women are in their final preparations for the upcoming 2016/17 SAFF Women’s Championship in Siliguri, where they will want to defend their title and their South Asian supremecy.

In South Asia, India remain in top spot ahead of Nepal (105th), Bangladesh (114th), Sri Lanka (115th), and the Maldives (116th) with Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bhutan currently unranked.

There were no changes in the top 5. The United States stay in top position with 2,140 points, ahead of Germany (2,109 pts), France (2,041 pts), Canada (2,031 pts) and England (2,030 pts), who complete the top five.
