FIFA World Rankings: India drop a spot to 97th, France & Belgium new joint No. 1!

FIFA - Coca Cola Mens World RankingEarlier in the day, the latest FIFA ‘Coca Cola’ Men’s World Ranking were released by the world football governing body and in the September rankings, India lost a spot as 97th position behind Uzbekistan, but ahead of Estonia; while FIFA World Cup winners France are the new joint No. 1 with Belgium.

India have 1244 points, two more than last month and they dropped a spot to 15th position of the Asian (AFC) rankings.

India are next to play in the fall FIFA match dates with matches set for October and November.

In South Asia, India remain in top spot ahead of the Maldives (151st), Nepal (160th), Bhutan (188th), Bangladesh (193rd), Sri Lanka (199th) and Pakistan (199th) in what was another mixed month for the region.

There were multiple changes across the top 5. FIFA World Cup winners France (1,729 pts) are new joint top side with Belgium (1,729 points) ahead of Brazil (1,663 points), Croatia (1,634 pts) and Uruguay (1,632 pts), who complete the top five.
