First-ever AFC Level 3 Goalkeeping Course kicks off in Bengaluru!

India’s first-ever Level 3 AFC Goalkeeping course began at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Monday, October 21, 2019. The AIFF and AFC approved course will take place for 7 days.

Some of the country’s top former goalkeepers including Indian ace Tanumoy Bose are taking the course, which is being held by AFC Instructor Jasim Mohammed Al Harbi, a former player and coach of the Saudi Arabia national team.

Bose, a former Indian goalkeeper who had led and played for Bengal and Railways, has also donned the colours of the three Kolkata giants – East Bengal, Mohun Bagan and Mohammedan Sporting.

Top coaches who have passed their Level Two and are now hoping to clear Level 3 are: Tanumoy Bose, Utpal Mukerjee from West Bengal; Mihir Milind Sawant, Raghuvir Pravin Khanolkar and Manish Ramesh Kajania from Maharashtra; Mukesh Kumar and Sandeep Singh from Chandigarh; Parashuram Salwadi, Mario Aguiar, Richard Sanches, Sebastian Antonio Noronha and Felix D’Souza from Goa; Fysal Kongadan Bappi and Feroz Sheriff from Kerala; Sapam Premkanta Singh and Lourembam Ronibala Chanu from Manipur; Chandrasekar Ramakrishnan from Tamil Nadu; Rajat Guha from New Delhi; and Mohammed Zakeer Hussain from Andhra Pradesh.

“This is a matter of great prestige for us at Karnataka State Football Association and we have also been blessed with some great climate for the course. We welcome the AFC Instructor Mr Al Harbi and all the top coaches here in Bengaluru,” said N.A. Haris, KSFA President.
