After Mohun Bagan has secured the services of numerous Indian players and foreigners it is time to induct young guns from the academy into the senior team. The Mohun Bagan senior team coaching staff had minutely evaluated the performance of the Under-19 team in the recently concluded Zee Bangla Football league and with inputs from the Technical Committee, five players of the U-19 team has been selected for trials with the senior team.
These five players are Subha Ghosh, Deep Saha, Samar Kumir, Sourav Das and Sheikh Sahil.
Subha Ghosh: He had an outstanding Zee Bangla Football League outing where he scored 6 goals and will emerge as the top scorer if we don’t have any replay match for abandoned final. Precision and agility is the strength of this lanky center forward. He played exceptionally well in U-18 Hero Elite League where he scored 6 goals.
Deep Saha: Another supremely talented player who hogged the limelight in Zee Bangla Football League for the Mariners. He has been lauded by the experts for his dribbling and creativity and is touted to be the next big thing in Mohun Bagan.
Samar Kumir: The captain of U-19 team in Zee Bangla Football League is a central midfielder by trade. He played the role of holding midfielder superbly and needs to be given time and chances on the pitch to prove his mettle.
Sourav Das: Another promising young star of Mohun Bagan junior team. He rose to prominence when He was selected as Best Youth Player of Mohun Bagan in 2017-18 season. The right back who can play as central defender as well is an interesting proposition for the Mariners in future. .
Sheikh Sahil: The young Mariner who can play in the heart of defense as well as central midfield , makes the cut due to his mature performance in Zee Bangla Football League.
All of the five boys have already shown the willingness and never-say-die attitude which are typical of a senior Mohun Bagan player.
