Garhwal Heroes FC draw 2-2 with Jamshedpur FC Reserves at Ambedkar Stadium!

In a thrilling game on Sunday afternoon, the match between Garhwal Heroes FC from Delhi and Jamshedpur FC Reserves ended in a draw with both teams scoring two goals.

The Garhwal Heroes took charge in the first half with excellent goals from Ekomobong Victor Philip in the twentieth minute followed by Nirmal Singh Bisht. A supporting crowd cheered the home team on to the end of the game. Jamshedpur FC captain Billu Teli made the first move towards a comeback for the away team with a goal in the forty-ninth minute and came through to claim a draw against the home team with a successful penalty during extra time.

Garhwal Heroes still stand strong in the Group A table of the Second Division League. Garhwal Heroes head coach Vikas Rawat said after the match, “The team showed skill in this game. While we knew we were against a tough opponent, we still stepped on the field with the aim of coming out successfully. The players came through in the first half brilliantly. The second half was much tougher, but the boys were steady and did not give the game away. We have now faced two opponents in this week and have the next game exactly a week from now, and this time will be used well by the entire team. We have now played three games in the league his season and understand the level of skill, strength and coordination that is required. While the next team we face is definitely a strong one, we look forward to being a solid match and giving the game our all.”

The Garhwal Heroes won 1-0 against ATK Reserves earlier this week at their home ground Ambedkar Stadium. They will now face Rajasthan FC in their third consecutive home game on Sunday, February 16. The match will kick-off at 3pm and there are no admission charges for spectators.

Garhwal Heroes FC are currently the only club to be representing Delhi in any of the national leagues, which includes the Indian Super League, I-League and Second Division League.
