Garhwal Heroes FC win against Rajasthan FC in the Second Division League!

Sunday’s Second Division League match at the Ambedkar Stadium in Delhi concluded with a 1-0 victory for Garhwal Heroes FC over Rajasthan FC.

This was the third consecutive home game for Garhwal Heroes FC. Ekomobong Victor Philip scored in the 8th minute, making this his fourth goal so far in the season. The Garhwal Heroes had several more attempts to score, but captain and goalkeeper of Rajasthan FC, Nitin Meel, kept them at bay with some clean saves.

With this win, Garhwal Heroes FC is currently at the top of the table of the Second Division League – Group A. They will now face Rajasthan FC again in their next match on February 21 away. Garhwal Heroes FC, one of Delhi’s oldest clubs, was crowned the champions of Delhi Senior Division 2019/20 and secured a spot in the Second Division League.

Garhwal Heroes FC head coach Vikas Rawat shared his take on the match, “We took the win in this game, which was something we needed after we drew in our last game against Jamshedpur FC reserves. The other team had capable players, however, our team understood how crucial this win was and I was proud to see the players play a full-fledged attacking game. We should have walked away with more goals, but still, the team never brought the intensity of the match down, which lead to us winning. We have had three matches on our home turf and the next four are all away from home. It will be a test to our endurance, but I have faith that we will continue to take each match head-on like we did today.”

In this season’s Second Division League, Garhwal Heroes FC have been slotted in Group A alongside Punjab FC Reserves, LoneStar Kashmir FC, Rajasthan FC, Jamshedpur FC Reserves and ATK Reserves.
