Germany’s Bundesliga has a problem of FC Bayern Munich’s success!

BundesligaTo me the German Bundesliga is the strongest football league in the world, but on the other side it also has a problem of having a super club in FC Bayern Munich amongst its ranks.

The Reds from Bavaria won a record fourth Bundesliga title last season with their domination in recent years being total over the whole league though last season until a few match rounds before the end, Borussia Dortmund were only five points away from FC Bayern but in the end their challenge was not enough to snatch the title from their southern rivals.

The league system of the Bundesliga is the strongest of all leagues in the world, when it comes to creating an even playing field, the ownership model (50%+1 rule), etc; but especially the high income that successful football clubs have generated from the UEFA Champions League in recent years has harmed a number of country leagues and especially the German Bundesliga due to financial strength of Bayern Munich, who are a regular in the semifinals of the Champions League in the last few years besides Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.

In the summer break, the Bundesliga (DFL – Deutsche Fußball Liga) chief Christian Seifert had said that it would be good for the league if any other team than Bayern Munich would win the 2016/17 Bundesliga title to help generate more interest about the league around the world.

But the new season is only two match days old and Bayern Munich are already on top with six points and 8:0 goals with only Hertha BSC from the capital Berlin being the other club without having dropped a point yet.

The worry in Germany is that Bayern Munich will have another start to finish top of the table campaign in the Bundesliga to lift a record fifth title in a row with people around the world saying that Germany is a one champion league and one cannot argue against it unlike about five to 10 years back when FC Bayern used to win in irregular intervals but also other teams like Borussia Dortmund, Werder Bremen, VfB Stuttgart or even VfL Wolfsburg.

Things don’t seem to changing anytime soon…
