GFA Executive Committee meets to discuss matters of Goan football!

The Executive Committee of the Goa Football Association met at the GFA office in Panaji on Friday evening to discuss matters of interest to Goan football.

The GFA informed that it had been granted the right to host the upcoming Santosh Trophy by the AIFF and with the support of the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG), who have allotted the Tilak Maidan and the GMC stadium in Bambolim for the hosting of the tournament.

The GFA congratulated Salgaocar FC winning the 2016 Goa Pro League title and congratulated age group teams winning their respective tournaments.

The GFA has decided to carry out major maintainance work on the artificial turf at the Duler Stadium in Mapusa, which has deriorated in recent times due to active use of the pitch which is now five years old.

The GFA also discussed the inclusion of new teams into the Goa Pro League for a 10 lakh fee, but would need further infos on the entities before considering them for induction, while the First Division would only see the relegation of one team and the promotion of two teams from the Goa Second Division League.
