Goa-leg of India U-16 Scouting to kick off tomorrow!

india-under-16-trials-goaKeeping in mind the abundance of potential talent in India, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) offers another opportunity to the invited U-16 Youth League Clubs to send in their three best Players for the two-day Goa leg of the Camp which kicks-off tomorrow, November 25.

All those Clubs who missed out on sending their three best Players for the Scouting Camps in Kalyani and New Delhi, the Clubs have been allowed to send their talents for the third and final phase of the Goa leg which will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Goa on November 25 and 26, 2016.

The move comes on the backdrop of expanding the base of the Player pyramid structure for the Indian U-17 World Cup Squad gearing up for the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017 India.

Speaking to www.the-aiff.com, Director of Scouting, Abhishek Yadav said: “We want to look at every Player and if it means that we have to invite some of the Players who were unable to make it in the first two Camps to the last Camp, then we will.”

“We need to assess the ground reality of every Player, take a look at them first hand, and decide,” he added. “Every stakeholder plays a major part in the development of the Indian U-17 World Cup Team and we at the AIFF urge Clubs to send in their best Players for the Scouting Camp,” Yadav stressed.

Players selected from the Camps would be assessed by Nicolai Adam, Head Coach, Indian U-17 World Cup Squad for them to gain a place in the Indian U-17 World Cup Team.

“The Clubs play a major role in helping us zero down on talent. They are very crucial in the setup of the U-17 World Cup squad. Some of the Players that we have looked at during the Scouting Camps have impressed us. It is a golden opportunity for Players to secure their way into the FIFA World Cup,” Yadav opined.
