Goa Pro League: Dempo SC hit five past Panjim Footballers!

Former champions Dempo SC climbed back to second position following their 5-0 win over Panjim Footballers in the Goa Professional League match played at the Duler Stadium in Mapusa on Sunday.

The Golden Eagles now move on to 20 points from ten games while the Panjim side continue with four points from seven games.

Dempo SC put up a team display as they had five different scorers against the young Panjim Footballers youth side, who struggled throughout the game to match their opponents. The Golden Eagles led 3-0 at the break.

Former FC Goa striker Joaquim Abranches gave Dempo the lead in the 26th minute when he guided in Jaison’s cross. The provider, Jaison then scored the second when he received a pass from Jessel Carneiro and the second goal provider then scored the third as Jessel Carneiro scored the team’s third in the 47th minute.

Crossing over, Panjim Footballers saw no change in their game plan and struggled against a strong Dempo side.

Chatur Naik made it 4-0 at the hour mark before Desmon Pereira scored the teams fifth in the second half injury time.
