Goa U-14 League: Sporting Goa trash Fr. Agnel Youth Club 5-1!

sporting-clube-de-goaThe Sporting Clube de Goa Under-14’s continued their fine run in the GFA U-14 League as they breezed past Fr. Angel Youth Club at the Batim Ground. A fine brace from Joseph D’Souza (28’ & 67’) & Joquim Pereira (53’ & 75’) and a goal from Nash Camilo (69’) helped the young Flaming Orange register a 5–1 victory over the Fr. Angel Youth Club who scored their only goal early in the 7th minute.

Sporting Goa were the first to start promisingly right from the kick off, the pressure paid off as Sporting Goa won a penalty in the 4th minute however Joseph D’Souza shot it wide of the post missing the early opportunity. Fr Agnel boys managed to exploit the slight lack of concentration by the Sporting Goa defence as they took an early lead in the 7th minute. It took Sporting Goa 28 minutes to find an equaliser when Joseph D’Souza made up for his earlier error with a good right footer to put things on level before the break.

In the second half Sporting Goa came out with intent destroying the Fr Agnel defence. Joquim Pereira started the Fr Agnel YC rout with a stunning 53rd minute goal and followed it up with another in the 75th. Joseph came back haunting in the 67th minute and then made a wonderful assist to Nash Camilo in the 69th minute; the latter connected it well to leave the goalkeeper clueless.

With this win Sporting Goa has collected nine points from three matches.
