Grassroots Football Leagues on the rise in Maharashtra!

With Grassroots Football on the rise across the country, the All India Football Federation in association with Western India Football Association (WIFA) and Indian Super League franchise Mumbai City FC has been conducting Grassroots Football Leagues in Maharashtra in 20 venues spread across the state.

The Grassroots League played in the format of 5v5, 7v7, 9v9 and 11v11 have encompassed age groups from U-8 to U-16 with over 16, 000 kids participating in the League structure over the months which saw 2388 matches played and 7469 goals scored.

With AIFF conducting the AIFF Grassroots Course in Maharashtra, age specific formats have increased rapidly in the State, with an aim of providing more than 50 competitive matches to a Player in a particular season.
