Guinea join Ghana on plane to 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India!

Guinea secured a goalless draw with Ghana in their final group game at the 2017 CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, meaning they joined their opponents at the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India.

Ghana were already assured of their place in India having won their opening two games at the championship, but their Group A rivals at Gabon 2017 needed a point to see off the challenge of Cameroon to finish second and claim their semifinal berth. Due to the 0-0 result between Ghana and Guinea, Cameroon’s 1-0 victory against the continental championship hosts Gabon was ultimately in vain.

Two more tickets to the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India will be finalised later today, with Group B set to conclude. Currently Tanzania and Mali, with four points apiece, are in the driving seat, but they face Niger and Angola respectively, who on one point each, can still catch their opponents and reach the global finals.
