Hollywood superstar Ryan Reynolds with his partner Rob McElhenney through their company RR McReynolds Company, subject to final agreement, league and FA confirmation, have taken 100% control of Wrexham Football Club Limited from the Wrexham Supporters Trust.
Wrexham AFC, currently playing the fifth-tier National League, have been run by the Wrexham Supporters Trust, who in an Extraordinary Ballot decided to sell their stake to RR McReynolds Company.
Both parties will now proceed with finalising the details of the takeover, and WST will update Wrexham supporters as soon as we can.
The Wrexham Supporters Trust Board thanked Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, and their advisors Inner Circle Sports and Walker Morris, for their professional and considered approach and for the time they have already put into the process.
When the rumours first came to light, many thought that Ryan Reynolds buying Wrexham AFC was a hoax or a big big joke, but now the takeover is complete and RR McReynolds Company have plans to take the club up the leagues.
