Horst Hrubesch announce 23-member Germany Women’s squad!

Germany Women’s national team interim head coach Horst Hrubesch has announced a 23-member squad for the upcoming 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers against the Czech Republic (April 7) and Slovenia (April 10).

Melanie Leupolz and Kristin Demann return to the squad after recovering from injuries, while Turid Knaak earned her first call-up to the Germany squad since early 2017.

Tabea Kemme, Carolin Simon, Simone Laudehr, Babett Peter, Hasret Kayikci and Pauline Bremer won’t be available for the upcoming matches due to injuries.

The team will gather for the national camp on Tuesday and they have four training sessions ahead of the first match against the Czech Republic in Halle/Saale on April 7.

Hrubesch and assistant coaches Ulrike Ballweg and Thomas Nörenberg have been appointed by the German FA (DFB) on an interim basis after the decision to relieve Steffi Jones and her coaching staff of their duties earlier this month.

Hrubesch was previously the men’s U-21 coach and led the Olympic team to Silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
