I-League champions Minerva Punjab FC off to Bhubaneswar to conquer inaugural Super Cup!

Minerva Punjab FC have officially confirmed their participation in the inaugural Super Cup 2018 scheduled at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar in Orissa from March 31 to April 20, 2018.

Meantime, recently crowned I-League champions Minerva Punjab FC are looking forward to do the triple after successfully defending their U-15 Youth League title for a third consecutive season.

The club has officially announced their 27 member squad that includes Côte d’Ivoire imports Bazie Armand and Dano Guy Eric, Frenchman Kassim Aidara, Ghanaian William Opoko, Nepales numero uno Kiran Chenjong and Bhutan skipper Chencho Gyeltshen.

Wangkhem Khogen Singh coached side who will land in the “Temple City of India” tomorrow are scheduled to take on Indian Super League debutants Jamshedpur FC on Monday, April 2 at the Kalinga Stadium.

Interestingly Minerva Punjab FC included India U-17 World Cup star’s Nongdamba Naorem and India’s first ever goal scorer at the FIFA World Cup Tournament Thaonaojam Jeakson Singh and defender Anwar Ali to the squad as they return back from their loan spell with the Indian Arrows.

Director of the Club Henna Bajaj has meanwhile confirmed that salary’s of all the players including foreigners have been disbursed after a massive delay, while the club has announced huge bonuses to all the players of the title winning squad including the officials ranging from $1000 to $6000.
