I-League: Relegation threatened Mumbai FC sack Santosh Kashyap!

In a last ditch effort to avoid I-League relegation, Mumbai FC ahead of their final four league matches have sacked head coach Santosh Kashyap.

Mumbai FC in a press statement said:

Mumbai FC has decided to part ways with coach Santosh Kashyap with immediate effect. Mumbai FC thanks Kashyap for his efforts and wishes him the best in his future endeavours.

The name of the new coach will be announced shortly.

Santosh Kashyap’s run at the club started with two win in the I-League early this year, but since then Mumbai FC have been winless in 12 matches, which resulted in the club dropping from the top of the pack to the bottom place of the I-League with only 10 points from 14 matches.

With a number of clubs exempt from I-League relegation, sixth placed Churchill Brothers on 16 points are the club to beat to avoid the drop, which will now happen under a new head coach.
