Independence Day Cup 2017: Goals galore as Chanmari West FC & Chhinga Veng FC win!

Chanmari West FC beat Rhino Charge of Assam 5-2 in their second group match today grabbing their first three points in the tournament.

The West Warriors took an early two goal lead as Calvin Zosiamliana scored twice in the opening seven minutes. They grabbed their third before halftime through Lallianzama.

Rhino Charge pulled one back through L. Zama after the restart but Chanmari West FC struck again with goals from Vanlalthlamuana and Lalromawia. Jessy Sailo then scored a second for Rhino Charge three minutes from time.

The second match of the day saw Chhinga Veng FC score five in three consecutive matches as they beat Chanmari FC 5-1 in a resounding victory to book their place in the semifinals.

The MFA Super Cup champions were three goal up by halftime with a strike from Malsawmfela and a brace from M.S. Dawngliana.

Laldampuia made it four in the second half and added their fifth 11 minutes after Rochhingpuia scored a consolation goal for Chanmari FC from the spot. Chhinga Veng FC are on three points from three matches.
