Javier Ceppi: India PM Encouragement will play a huge role towards U17 World Cup success!

India U16sBuoyed by the PM’s support to the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017, Tournament Director Javier Ceppi believes that the Government’s involvement in the FIFA’s flagship event to be hosted in India will play a major role towards creating a football revolution in India. The LOC set up by the AIFF is working in tandem with the Government of India to ensure that the event turns out to be a massive success.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Tuesday after inaugurating the multi-purpose sports complex in Jammu & Kashmir said that the opportunity of hosting a FIFA World Cup will be an energy booster among the youth especially the sports lovers in India.

The Prime Minister mentioned that Under-17 FIFA World Cup will boost energy level of sports lovers in the Country.

“India will be hosting Under-17 FIFA World Cup in 2017 and in the coming days ahead, the event will be an energy booster among the youth especially the sports lovers,” he said while addressing a gathering after inaugurating the multi-purpose sports complex by pressing a button from the venue at Katra town of Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Set up in 2014 by All India Football Federation (AIFF), the LOC under the leadership of Mr. Joy Bhattacharya and Tournament Director Javier Ceppi is solely in charge of organising of the Tournament and is working tirelessly towards ensuring all facilities are in order with the support of the Government.

Encouraged by the continued support from Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, Mr. Javier Ceppi, Tournament Director, FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 said: “This reflects the continued support that the government of India is giving FIFA U-17 WC Indian 2017. The fact that the PM of the Country is repeatedly talking about the tournament is a clear indication that the event is much more than just a sporting competition. This is a unique opportunity to create a youth revolution in the Country and the LOC has very comprehensive plans that have been discussed and agreed upon with Government of India to make this revolution happen and to take Football to the whole Nation. Although the event will happen in 6 states, the plan is that all the youth of India can experience football and we are very much in sync with the government to turn this in to reality.”

The Prime Minister was on a daylong visit to Katra to inaugurate hi-tech Super Specialty Hospital, Sports Complex and address the Fifth Convocation of Shri. Mata Vaishno Devi University.
