India U-15s continue winning run with 4-1 Chonburi FC friendly win!

India U-15 National Team, with a 4-1 win over Chonburi FC U-15 side, on Tuesday, August 6 continued their scintillating run during the exposure trip to Thailand.

Taison Singh (5′) opened the scoreline, before Himanshu Jangra (50′) doubled the gap. Sridarth (78′,87′) scored a quick brace to wrap it up. Nithipan Suksai (36′) scored the only consolation goal for the hosts in the first half.

Coach Bibiano Fernandes fielded the same team who had secured a 4-1 victory against the U-15 side of Port FC two days back (August 4). Attacking midfielder Taison took only 5 minutes to open the scorebook when he converted the low through ball from Sridarth Nongmeikepam.

After conceding an early goal, Chonburi FC shifted the gear and earned back-to-back corners but the Indian defenders defied them.

Maheson, with his electrifying pace, continued to outrun the defenders, but his cross to Sridarth was intercepted by the opponent goalkeeper in the 24th minute, followed by another brilliant save by the goalkeeper four minutes later to deny Yoihenba from doubling the gap.

Nithipan Suksai took it on his own to initiate an attack on the Blue Colts and eventually, scored the equaliser in the 36th minute.

The scoreline was evenly poised at 1-1 at the end of the first half.

Changing over, Bibiano made two changes as Lalthangliana and Himanshu replaced Shubho and Sibajit, respectively. Himanshu, the super-sub, made an immediate impact on the game, having scored India’s second goal in the 50th minute.

Himanshu did well to convert a long throw by Amandeep, to hand India the lead once again.

Himanshu continued to trouble the Thai boys as his well-directed header off a cross by Pritam missed the target by a whisker in the 71st minute.

A minute later, goalkeeper Aman made an acrobatic save to keep India in the lead.

Sridarth, who has been on a fine goalscoring run so far, scored his first of the day to double the lead. Three minutes to the end of the regulation time, the youngster bundled a cross from Himanshu to sweep the game away from the Thai boys.

Bibiano’s boys will face Assumption United U-15 Team on August 9 in their final match of the exposure trip.
