India U-16 boys held to 3-3 draw by Fortuna Düsseldorf U-16!

India Under-16sThe India Under-16 boys dished out another scintillating performance tonight to earn a high-scoring 3-3 draw against the Fortuna Düsseldorf Under-16 boys at Duisburg-Wedau.

Aman Chetri opened the scoring for the Indian outfit in the first half while Boris Singh and Sanjeev chipped in one goal apiece in the second half.

Midfielder Amarjit got the first chance of the match within first ten minutes but his long-range effort never came down. Lalengmawia blasted another from 20-yards out but the home team goalie thwarted him from scoring the opener.

Indian colts did not need to wait for more to breaking the deadlock as Aman Chetri scored the first one just after the half-hour mark. Within a minute, Aman Chetri netted once again but he was caught offside by the assistant referee.

India went to the dressing room having maintained the same scoreline, thanks to the sole strike by Aman Chetri.

After the resumption, Fortuna Düsseldorf hit the gas and found the back of the net within the first five minutes. Even before the Indian colts found themselves back in their system, the home team smacked another goal within a minute of scoring the first one to get their nose in front.

As the clock ticked off the hour-mark, Boris Singh pulled off a stunner to bring the Indian youngsters back into the match. Aniket, who was introduced late in the match, tried his luck from the top of the box but on rebound, Boris Singh took the glory from inside the box.

In the 74th minute, Sanjeev took an exuberant free kick to stun the homies from 20-yards to outwit the sturdy German defenders.

With a minute to the final whistle, Fortuna Düsseldorf humbled Indian goalkeeper Mohammed Nawaz to level the scoreline and concluded the redemption job for themselves.
