India U-17 coach Luis de Matos: We will be competitive against Colombia in Torneo de 4 Naciones!

Luis Norton de Matos, Head Coach of the India U17 World Cup Team said that his boys will be ‘competitive’ when India U-17 take on Colombia U-17 in the ongoing invitational Torneo de 4 Naciones tournament in Mexico.

“We landed very late due to visa issues and it was understandable that the boys would take time to acclimatise to the climate and more importantly recover from the jet lag,” Matos said in reference to India’s first match against Mexico.

“Playing at an altitude of 2250 meters is quite a task for any Team and the boys needed time to acclimatise.”

“These matches are a learning experience for my boys and I need to thank AIFF for providing us with the exposure tours,” he added.

Incidentally, India and Colombia have been clubbed together in a Group A of the FIFA U-17 World Cup which kicks-off on October 6.
