Indian Freestyle Football Federation working to develop Freestylers in India!

Around the world freestyle footballers have gained acceptance and prominence, which in India the Indian Freestyle Football Federation (IF3) is also trying to achieve.

Only recently the sport of ‘Freestyle Football’ has properly come to India with the Indian Freestyle Football Federation working to developing and promoting it. A lot of Indians will have seen freestyle footballers, but not many would be able to differentiate it from mainstream football.

One of the key members of the Indian Freestyle Football Federation, which is affiliated to the World Freestyle Football Federation, is Nikita and her being not a male freestyler has made it difficult for her but she has overcome prejudice and other issues to create IF3 with the problems continuing even after creation of the federation.

The Indian Freestyle Football Federation has opened two freestyle football academies in Bengaluru with around 200 kids getting regular training, which were the first academies in India. Thereafter the Tamil Nadu Freestyle Football Federation affiliated itself with the IF3 and started to promote freestyle football in Tamil Nadu.

Recently the Gujarat Freestyle Football Federation gained association with the IF3 in order to develop freestyle football in Gujarat.

The Indian Freestyle Football Federation is just at the start of what hopefully is a great future of freestyle football in India.
