Indian Women’s League qualifiers: Bodyline SC & Eastern Sporting Union win big!

iwl-eastern-sporting-union-upfcThe third day of the preliminary round of the inaugural edition of the Indian Women’s League saw two one-sided matches with Bodyline SC trashing Royal Wahingdoh FC 9-0 and Eastern Sporting Union scoring 13-0 goals against UPFC.

In the first match of the day, Mumbai’s Bodyline SC scored nine against Meghalaya’s Royal Wahingdoh FC at the Odisha Police Ground, but they had to wait a quarter of an hour before scoring their first, but thereafter the floodgates opened and the girls from Royal Wahingdoh had to answer.

Bodyline SC’s goalscorers were Anju Tamang (15th, 21st, 33rd, 44th), Kareen Pais (27th, 68th), Aditi Sethy (64th), Sasmita Ekka (79th), and Rhea Rodrigues (87th).

The Player of the Match award went to Michele Castanha of Bodyline SC.

In the second match of the day, favourites Eastern Sporting Union hammered UPFC from Uttar Pradesh by a 13-0 scoreline at the Odisha Police Ground.

The goalscorers for Eastern Sporting Union Yumnam Kamala Devi (7th, 59th), Thokchom Umapati Devi (27th), Moirangthem Mandakini Devi (30th, 76th), Yumlembam Premi Devi (39th, 42nd, 72nd), Ngangom Bala Devi (47th, 52nd), Irom Prameshwori Devi (43rd), Bembem Devi (66th), and Lalam Haokip (90th).

Eastern Sporting Union’s Y. Premi Devi was named Player of the Match.
