ISL-3: Delhi Dynamos batter FC Goa 5-1, move towards semifinals!

delhi-dynamos-fc-goaThe Delhi Dynamos took a giant step towards the semifinals of the Indian Super League – Season 3 by scoring a big 5-1 win at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi over an eliminated FC Goa, who are out of the running for a semifinal spot.

The Delhi Dynamos had the early chances through Richard Gadze and Marcelinho, but the goal came at the other end as Julio Cesar did all the spade work, was blocked and Fulganco Cardozo had to simply tap in the ball for FC Goa’s somewhat surprise lead.

The Dynamos continued to attack with Gadze and Marcelinho continuing to fail to score before a 38th minute clever Florent Malouda free kick was finally put into the back of the net by Marcelinho for the equaliser. It would remain 1-1 at the break.

But Marcelinho would put his team ahead for the first time in the 48th minute with a brilliant long range effort and the Brazilian set up Richard Gadze to finally score in the 51st minute to give the Dynamos a 3-1 lead. In the 56th minute it was again Marcelinho to complete his hattrick and the Dynamos fourth as FC Goa were well beaten by now.

But the rout was not over just yet as Gadze would score his second of the night only a minute later to give the Delhi Dynamos a 5-1 lead with not even a hour on the clock. Therefore the Dynamos controlled things but did not score anymore as it ended 5-1 in favour of the capital side in another fantastic display of attacking football.
